The second Haslar Open Day of 2025, held on Saturday 11th October, saw Royal Haslar throw open its doors once again to friends, family and the local community, with car parks full to capacity. Between 10am and 3pm, a steady stream of visitors arrived, many stopping in to view the show homes open in Trinity House, including two that starred in Hit BBC One makeover show Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr, as well as a number of undressed apartments, flaunting light-filled living spaces and original, classical features.
Following feedback from visitors from the last Haslar Open Day, held in June, a new comprehensive and visually appealing new map of Royal Haslar was produced, guiding people across the 62-acre site and allowing them to gain an insider’s view into life within the magnificent period buildings.

Exciting changes that have taken place this year saw a warm reception, with new café ‘Coffee Quarters’, part of the recently completed vaulted-ceilinged 5,000 sq.ft. communal area within Trinity House, packed throughout the day. Due to generous amounts of seating inside and out, visitors were able to linger, pacing their visit and enjoy cake and lunch.
Organisations, projects and charities based at or near Royal Haslar were also on hand to share information, including Haslar Heritage Group, Shore Leave Haslar (the veterans’ horticultural therapy project based in the former hospital’s Memorial Garden), furniture poverty charity Hub4Stuff, much loved independent bookseller Lee Book Shop, specialists in downsizing Senior Move Partnership and Serenity Care Solent, home care experts who have just opened a dedicated branch on site.
