Haslar Open Day 2025 – Throwing open the doors once again

1st June 2025

Following on from the success of the inaugural Haslar Open Day last September, a second event is taking place on Saturday 21st June, between 10am and 3pm. Residents’ family and friends, prospective homeowners, the local community and the simply curious are all welcome at Royal Haslar, to see the wonderful Solent-side lifestyle on offer, with free parking on site for the day.

A range of show apartments will be open for viewing on the day within Edwardian Canada House and Georgian Trinity House, including three of those designed during the Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr challenge. Alongside these, Trinity House’s magnificent, freshly completed communal facilities will be open to visitors, who can view the luxurious residents’ lounge, the Haslar café and events space, and be among the first to hear news of the next exciting phase of Royal Haslar.

Local businesses at the heart of the Haslar community will also be taking part, including independent bookseller The Book Shop from Lee-on-Solent, curators of the Royal Haslar library, who will have a range of books and gifts for sale, plus details of their special gift boxes and Positivity Book Club.

Demonstrating how to make your move to Royal Haslar that bit easier are The Senior Move Partnership, specialists in helping people right-size – find out about their services and their first Royal Haslar event due to take place in September. Royal Haslar partners and independent financial services provider Spring Part Exchange, too, will be on hand, explaining how they can ease making the move into your new retirement home simple.

For those with a passion for sailing, or keen to learn, Boatfolk at Haslar Marina offers a range of boatie services, from training and brokerage to charter and hire. You can find out about their unique offering to Royal Haslar residents and guests on the day.

Haslar Open Day visitors will also have the chance to explore the three special charitable and volunteer-led organisations that have made their home at Royal Haslar. Visit the former naval hospital’s Memorial Garden, lovingly planted and maintained by veterans’ project Shore Leave Haslar, where you will also find crafts, tea and cake for sale. Meet the team at Hub4Stuff, determined to put an end to furniture poverty in the area, and find out how you can volunteer; and don’t forget to stop by splendid St Luke’s Chapel, where members of the Haslar Heritage Group will share their knowledge of the site’s incredible history, show you how you can get involved and have publications for sale.

Round off – or start – your visit to Haslar Open Day by calling in at local favourite The Creek, where a mouth-watering lunchtime special menu is being served.
