Completion announced for former MoD site at Royal Hospital Haslar |

The Ministry of Defence has recently successfully completed the sale of the Royal Haslar Hospital site to Our Enterprise Haslar Ltd., it was announced today. Our Enterprise is leading the development of the Royal Haslar Hospital site in partnership with an initiative of veterans’ charities and the national employment charity Tomorrow’s People. In addition, two of the country’s leading specialist in the field of Cancer and Dementia, Professor Karol Sikora and Professor Robin Jacoby, have joined the Advisory Board to develop a centre of excellence for rehabilitation and care at the hospital. |

Chairman Brigadier Andrew Parker-Bowles said: “We have spent two years developing this scheme and I have to thank all of those individuals who have helped us to get where we are today. We also congratulate the MoD and the Secretary of State for making what we believe to be the right decision for the community, and now look forward to delivering the scheme and a bright future for this historical site for the next 250 years.” Director Matthew Bell said: ”We are delighted to have secured the site so that we can now deliver our social vision, which includes a continuing care community for our veterans and ex-forces personnel, a strong community healthcare hub, a student quarter for postgraduates and a host of cultural, heritage and arts facilities.
